The Task:
We prepared the Swan Street Structure Plan for the City of Yarra. Our plan guides the future land use, built form, public spaces and access and movement for the Swan Street Activity Centre.
The document draws on our planning and urban design experience to create strong, defensible objectives and strategies that will guide the growth and change of the Swan Street Activity Centre.
The Outcome:
The desktop published document is clear, succinct, visually attractive and understandable by planners, Council and the public alike.
The creation of the plan required the complex balancing of community desires, developer requirements, state planning policy imperatives and the need to create a more sustainable, resilient inner-urban centre.
The plan ensures the valued heritage qualities of the Swan Street Activity Centre is preserved while allowing for a growth in housing and the creation of more job opportunities within the City of Yarra.
