Thai Nguyen City is the regional capital city of Thai Nguyen Province, Viet Bac region of Vietnam. Presently, the natural environment of the city is polluted from adjoining industries, poor air and water quality and noise emissions.

We were part of a development consortium appointed by the Thai Nguyen government to design the development area including the Xuong Rong Reservoir.

The plan incorporated existing residential development, a school, religious temple and pagoda and proposed shop top housing, apartments, retail, commercial, entertainment and government infrastructure.

The design provided for a lake and surrounds, incorporating waterside amenities, parks and recreational facilities.

The study area has been planned to successfully connect the neighbouring precincts and provide links to the city centre.
